Summer Learning Credit Recovery
Summer School (High School)Eligible students: Current 8th – 12th grade students
Dates: June 24 – July 31, 2025 (Classes will not be in session on Fridays.)
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
About Credit Recovery
Credit recovery is competency-based and self-paced and designed for students who have failed the original version of the course. Students who do not complete all required coursework and earn a passing grade will receive a final grade of W and can be rescheduled in the same credit recovery course during the school year.
Course List
- English Language Arts: English 1-4
- Math: Algebra 1-2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Probability & Statistics
- Science: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy & Physiology, Environmental Science
- Social Studies: World History 1-2, DC History, US Government, US History
- Health & Physical Education: Fitness & Lifetime Sports 1-2, Health
- World Languages: Spanish I & Spanish II
Instructional Experience
Credit Recovery Labs will be used for students in need of recovery for math, science, ELA, social studies, world languages, and CLCP. Credit recovery will be competency-based. A DCPS teacher will monitor each lab and support students individually or in small groups for each course per content area. Students in need of recovery for Fitness and Lifetime Sports and Health will be led by a DCPS teacher using DCPS curriculum on Canvas.
All classes will be in-person.

A student’s summer site will be based on the feeder pattern. Students should speak with their school Counselor about site location.
