Summer Learning Original Credit
Summer School (High School)Eligibility: 8th – 12th grade students (Please see course eligibility and sites in the table below)
Dates: June 22 – July 30, 2026 (Classes will not be in session on Fridays.)
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. A student’s daily schedule will be based on whether the course is 1.0 credit or 0.5 credit. Families and students should check with their school counselor or email extendedlearningteam@k12.dc.gov if there are questions.
Sites: Anacostia HS, Bard DC, Jackson-Reed HS, McKinley Tech HS, H.D. Woodson HS
High school original credit offers students opportunities to accelerate or get back on track toward promotion and graduation.

Instructional Experience
Original credit courses are in person and will be led by DCPS teachers using DCPS curriculum. Original credit courses will be scheduled in to meet seat hour requirements. A 0.5 credit course will be scheduled for 60 hours, and a 1.0 credit course will be 120 hours.
Registration
Students should work directly with their school counselors to register for Original Credit.
