About Middle School Academic Recovery
Middle School Academic recovery is designed primarily for students in grades 6 through 8 who have been flagged for retention by their school principals. Students will be scheduled in both humanities and STEM courses. Students will be re-evaluated for promotion by their school principal following the conclusion of summer learning.
Students who have been flagged for retention are not eligible for summer enrichment.

Instructional Experience
- Students will attend class June 24 through July 31. Classes will be not session on Fridays.
- Classes in be in-person only.
- Class will start promptly at 9:00 am and end at 12:00 pm.
- Students will be scheduled on both humanities and STEM.
- Students are expected to attend class every day and arrive on time.
Registration
Students who have been retained by their school principal must attend academic recovery. Academic recovery students will be scheduled by DCPS Central Services. Families will not need to register their children.
