About Middle School Academic Recovery
Middle School Acceleration Academy is designed for students in grades 6 through 8 who have been flagged for retention by their school principals. Students will be scheduled in ELA and math. Students will be re-evaluated for promotion by their school principal following the conclusion of summer learning.
Students who have been flagged for retention are not eligible for enrichment that occurs in the morning but are eligible to participate in afternoon enrichment as part of their 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily schedule.
Day Overview
- MS Acceleration: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Enrichment: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Students are expected to attend class every day and arrive on time.
Registration
Students who have been retained by their school principal must attend MS Acceleration. Students will be scheduled by DCPS Central Services. Families will not need to register their children.
