Dear DCPS Pre-K Families,
We are excited about the start of the new school year and look forward to welcoming our youngest learners to school this fall!
As you prepare for the first day of Pre-K on Thursday, September 1, I am excited to share with you our new Pre-K Family Toolkit!

In this toolkit, you’ll find vital information to help both you and your child feel prepared for Pre-K. This includes information about the Pre-K classroom experience, key dates, helpful links, answers to commonly asked questions, and ideas for supporting your child’s learning over the summer as they transition into school.
You are also invited to join an upcoming DCPS Ready for Pre-K virtual session for families.
DCPS Early Childhood Education staff will provide an overview of our Pre-K program, answer any questions you might have about your child’s transition to school, and share some strategies to ensure a strong start to the school year!
